The Alta Valle Tevere is situated in
the northen part of Umbria and within easy
reach of Tuscany and Marche.
Citta di Castello, surrounded by stunningly beautiful
green hills, is
the main town of significance in this area and contains the area's
most
precious jewels, of art, culture and history with works from some of
the world
most famous artists, Raffaello, Signorelli and Alberto Burri
(who was born here in
Città di Castello).
There are many important culural events held in the town (the "Festival
delle
Nazioni" is one of the world's most important chamber music
festivals) and many
other shows and entertainements.
Another important aspect of this area is the fabulous gastronomic tastes
to be
found (of which the white truffle and the wonderful porcini mushroom
are the local
delicacies), they can be found being celebrated in many
of the towns festas and
sagras.
The natural environment that surrounds our beautiful town creates the
possibility to
discover peace and well being by means of participating in sport,
and many other activities.
But Città di Castello is not the only pearl in our area: only
a short distance away,
you can reach the tuscan towns (San Sepolcro,
Arezzo, Anghiari, Cortona...), the
Appennini mountains on the Umbria-Marche
border and other beautiful umbrian
towns of Perugia, Assisi and many
others, to increase your enjoyment of this
fantastic region!
